Longbrook Insurance is a trading name of Asta Europe SRL (company registration number 0758852576) which is a (re)insurance and ancillary insurance intermediary registered by the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) as a mandated underwriter. Asta Europe SRL is registered at Avenue Louise 54, 1050 Brussels. Longbrook Insurance policies are underwritten by authorised insurers. Asta Europe (UK branch –company registration number BR023138), trading as Longbrook Insurance, is an appointed representative of Asta Underwriting Management Ltd which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority with Firm Reference Number 657311.

Role of MHL

MHL is a managing general agent which holds delegated underwriting authority on behalf of a number of insurance undertakings. For the avoidance of doubt, when carrying on insurance intermediation activities, MHL is acting as agent for the insurer (and opposed the insured). MHL’s work does not, therefore, displace the responsibilities of the insured’s broker. MHL has no responsibility for advising on whether the insurance coverage purchased by an insured is appropriate for the insured’s needs or represents the best terms and conditions available.

Compensation

When it enters into a policy of insurance on behalf of an insurance undertaking, MHL will be entitled to receive a commission payment from such insurance undertaking by way of consideration for its role in the underwriting process. MHL may also receive profit commission from the relevant insurance undertaking.
